JQP, Jesus said "love your enemies"-Difficult but try that course. I wrote on the other Drilling Thread earlier today of intelligence failures during the Carter Administration that impact us 30 years later.

Two items in particular need to be revisited: Rickover in 1979 as Head of the CIA in a truly bad move IMO terminated our human spy network and decided to depend upon high tech spook data alone- bad move. We need to rebuild our "on the ground" squadrons of spies and informants. Money talks- especially in the Middle East....

Second- Carter/Rickover terminated the authority of CIA agents in 1979 to carry out political assassinations in the theory that "good guys don't shoot bad guys". Should we consider restoring that power to CIA agents in the field in the Middle East and SE Asia?

Other more mundane but useful proposals would be to triple or quadruple INS/Border Patrol Agents and Customs Service personnel in order to beef up land border/port/airport surveillance.

Finally we might cut back on immigration quotas from the Middle East and rotate those quotas to Latin American or Asian/African persons...
