Deibutfeif, I checked your link and CNN, but there's no real information on status of folks that were at WTC. In the afternoon, our CEO said that someone from teh WTC's 47th floor got out okay, so I assumed anyone just a tad above that would.
But when I looked at the news tonight, I don't see how they could. If my friend was in the first building that collapsed an hour later, that only gives about 45 seconds per floor for the decent. If he was in the second building which I read collapsed 18 minutes after the first one was hit, that would only give about 15 seconds per floor for the decent. I will call his parents this weekend if I don't learn anything by then (I don't want to call now and be a burden to his parents or be one of those people that jam the phone lines.)
My friend once had told me that New Yorkers were very caring at a deep level. He said to me, if a stranger got hurt at the subway, New Yorkers would be busting to help.
I just now heard on the news, they will start counting missing people tomorrow. The photos don't look good, I don't see how folks got out. I feel very shaken up.
On another note, I'm not comfortable with the thought of my very near & dear, friends, going back to work at Intel tomorrow. I think tomorrow should be a day off, until more information on safety is gained.
During the day, I think I may have been feeling numb to the news, but now I am feeling quite shaken.
Peacefully, Amy J |
