Sorry to hear that there is already a backlash against Afghanis even in Australia. I have had several Afghani clients, including one fellow who was perhaps the worst client I ever had (committed perjury, wound up being sent to jail for contempt of court - this was a civil case) but I liked his wife and his parents. Afghanis are very independent and fight very hard.

We spent the last couple of weeks with these Afghanis on the Norwegian ship and the Government fighting in the courts and Parliament etc abotu where to send them. And we have heaps in detention cmaps all over the country. Ordinary Australians fear that these people are really terrorists or something. I told this woman that yes when Australia took refugees after WWII some war criminals (like Kalejs) cam in but most are genuine refugees.

The Afghanis are now somewhere off PNG but the court here ruled they should be brought to Australia. The woamn said "the judges must be feeling bad today" - I didn't even understand what she was saying at first.

Mq gives me a hard time for saying that "war is good for the economy." Not that I think war is "good". I don't know another way to express the observation, but historically, it's accurate.

It was good for the US economy when they fought wars overseas because of the huge defence spending but it is never good for a country who's mainland is under attack.

My brother's opinion (from Israel):

"I reckon that they have made their strike and there isn't much else left to
do. They probably don't have the organization or personel to do anything
else either."
