Many people are hurting, and I see various means of demonstrating that hurt here on this thread. I urge all to refrain from pointing fingers and reducing yourselves to acts you may soon regret. Words cannot describe the pain and suffering we all feel. I had friends at my old employer EuroBrokers who perished in the south tower and am thankful that my own life was spared during the first bombing when I walked out over 40 flights of stairs in pitch darkness. From the media as well as here on these chat lines, it is apparent that the majority of persons are bent on revenge. This is a short cited approach to the problems of US policy that has instigated this type of actions. The two main US policies that are seen in the Arab world as unacceptable, is 1- favoritism with the Jewish State over the Palestinians who reside in Gaza and the West Banks. And 2- a continuation of the bombing of Iraq, 10 years after their attempt of annexing Kuwait. While I am not going to argue either of these points as it is obviously beyond the scope of any traders "chat-line" response, I would however, request that some reasonable attempt at reflection of how this degree of hatred toward the US could have occurred. In maintaining why we are here, that is we are traders, I now feel obligated to stay focused and do what it is that I do best, and that is trade. During WWII JPMorgan saved the day by buying anything that anyone wanted to sell. I expect someone out there will step up to the plate this time as well. Consumer confidence has been hit, and that will put a damper on an immediate bounce. Let us spend the rest of this day, with friends and family. Go for a walk. Donate blood. Breathe fresh air. Give thanks for your own good fortunes and say a prayer to those less fortunate. Peace to all, S |
