Gustave, that's like saying that the British engineered Pearl Harbor because it would benefit them. Do you think the US won't be able to find out who did this? Your theories are getting more and more nuts.

bin Laden or one of his ilk have every reason for doing this. Whoever it is just made himself an ENORMOUS hero to half the Arab world, and increased the desired radicalization of the Arab world and its alienation from the West.

The Palestinians won't benefit from this ultimately but as you can see from the dancing in the streets, large numbers of them are too stupid to realize that this was a catastrophe for them.

The PLFP does not have a recent track record of targeting civilians, nor do they have the wherewithall to do this, esp. now. If Syria had anything to do with this they just committed national suicide. bin Laden's advantage is that he has no clear address and lots of places to hide -- Afghanistan is a great country for hiding and feuding, always has been.
