Osmonics Inc., Minnetonka, has been awarded a $3.8 million contract for a reverse osmosis system to purify Brazos River water from the Granbury Reservoir southwest of Fort Worth, Texas. The Brazos River Authority contracted Osmonics to reduce dissolved minerals in the Brazos River to meet World Health Organization standards for drinking water.
St. Jude Medical Inc., Little Canada, said it received approval from the Food and Drug Administration and the European Union for its newest vascular closure product, the St. Jude Medical Angio-Seal STS Platform.
Colle+McVoy, Bloomington, has named Charles Kushell CEO. Kushell previously was CEO and president of New York City-based Focus One Media Group.
Comedicus Inc., Columbia Heights, has has signed a three-year agreement with E-Medirect GmbH for marketing, sales and distribution of its PerDucer pericardial access device and its accessories throughout the European Union.
ADDCO Inc., St. Paul, has been awarded a $3.6 million contract to design and implement intelligent transportation systems in Minnesota, including Rochester and Mankato, by the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Rapids Power, Grand Rapids, Minn., has requested a certificate of need from the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission for a proposed co-generation project adjacent to the Blandin Paper facility in Grand Rapids. Rapids Power, a limited liability company owned by Minnesota Power subsidiary Rainy River Energy Corp. and Blandin Paper, a subsidiary of UPM-Kymmene of Helsinki, Finland, proposes to build and own the project.
ADC Telecommunications Inc., Minnetonka, has named Robert Annunziata and Larry Wangberg to its board of directors. Annunziata is chairman of Velocita Corp., and Wangberg is chairman and CEO of TechTV.
Best Buy Co. Inc., Eden Praire, and Netflix, an online DVD rental source, have formed a marketing alliance. They have launched a co-branded DVD rental service that is accessible through BestBuy.com, SamGoody.com, MediaPlay.com, OnCue.com and Suncoast.com. Best Buy will launch joint-marketing programs at its 1,800-plus retail stores this fall. In turn, Netflix directs its customers interested in buying DVDs to Best Buy's Web sites.
