Oh yes, and the fact that the US did not allow German SS troops to just come to this country, or the Japanese soldiers was just a terrible lapse in our policy of freedom of religion.
Ummm... no that's quite different. It was suggested that we should blackmark anyone of the Islamic faith. Now, if we know someone was a member of a terrorist organization, turn them away at the door (which we do), but to blackmark everyone of the Islamic faith sounds a bit like making Jews wear yellow Stars of David...
And you forgot to mention the British nanny who shook that baby who might have caused the baby's death. There is no difference in in 100s of thousands of muslims that are being admitted to this country, many of whom share the goals of the terrorists who committed most of the anti-american attacks around the world and that British nanny. Singling the arabs/muslims is just one ugly act of intolerance on my part.
I slapped both of my wrists for this offense of being so politically incorrect, as I sit here and expect more smoke to see from the windows of my apartment in the future as I have today. While I sit here being very tolerant, just allow me to pray that the next smoke cloud I see will not have mushroom shape.
I pray that as well, but this isn't a case of being "politically correct." This is a case about protecting the U.S. Constitutuion which it seems far too many Americans are willing to throw on the fire in the name of vengeance. You abridge one person's rights under the Consitution... and you abridge everyone's... THAT'S what these fanatics yesterday WANT to happen... to make us scared enough, hurt enough, and mad enough to give up our Freedom and self determination...
Well, during the WWII, a German unit was stationed in my home town in Europe, and in fact, 2 German soldiers stayed im my grandparents' house for a period of time, and they were the nicest people they could think of, became good friends and continued to exchange letters with my grandparents etc.
But these people were also soldiers, they had to follow orders, and do what they were told. Those are the rules of the game, of war. Suppose a US bomber hit the house of my grandparents and killed those 2 soldiers. I guess in your eyes, it would have been an unspeakable strategy, since the 2 soldiers were not convicted by the jury of their peers, they were not read the Miranda rights, none of the "good stuff".
I honestly don't see how you came to that conclusion. Those two were soldiers in a declared war. They are therefore a valid target. The bottom line is at this point is WE DON'T HAVE A VALID TARGET! Far too many people here are ready to blame the entire Islamic religion, and that's just plain wrong! Once we have a valid target, we pursue and eliminate that target with extreme prejudice. IMHO, we don't do it alone either... we get the Russians and Chinese involved so it isn't just a case of "Western aggression" to perpetuate the cycle...
I am sure FDR and Churchill are fanatics in your eyes as well.
You clearly misunderstood just about everything in my post and are speaking from anger an pain, and I want you to know share that pain (though I deal with it in different ways). On the contrary I wish we had an FDR or Churchill in the White House today rather than a Shrub... |
