How naive! How superficial!
I was critical and angry because so many lives were needlessly lost simply because the powers that be have been so smug and self-complacent. In case you didn't know, I do sympathize with the folks that have lost loved ones. As for those that perished, my personal belief is that they probably have gone to a happy place far from the madding crowds, far from the rat race, the daily cares and chores of living and frustrations and even mortal strifes.
And you descended into your "wormy" tirade. How self-righteous and how presumptuous can you get and smug, too! I suppose as an hallowed American you are at liberty to pass judgement on others and/or ride roughshod over them as you please and with impunity as Uncle Sam has been doing for years? Some God-given privilege, eh?
Let's face it: most of the people on this continent have been called "foreigners", "cowards" and "worms" and even worse things by the likes of you at one time or another. Hey, since when did you and/or your kinfolk cease being foreigners and cowards and straddling worms on the fence? I suppose you have been a patriot from the morning of time?
You certainly have a most wonderful sense of humour, Tom.
"Judge not, lest ye be judged," so sayeth the Lord.

PS. BTW, worms have their uses. For example, they help turn the soil for the farmers' benefit to the benefit of so many others, too. |
