Obviously my dislike of Bush is not popular on this thread, but no, Clinton worked hard to defuse and stabilize situations that Bush has already destabilized. Bush Jr. I am not Republican or Democrat though I tend to the latter, however I very much respect & voted for Guiliani. And I liked Reagan, overall, in spite of the economic damage his policies did at home. I like him because he helped bring down the Berlin Wall.
From my perspective Bush is not smart enough, and he has hobbled Colin Powell, somebody else I also like and respect. He doesn't understand what's at stake in a situation like this. I can't see one good decision he's made since he's been in office, from Kyoto onward. All of Europe was outraged at that one.
In this case, when somebody like Kissinger comes in and writes what Scott posted--that has the flavor of authority, wisdom, and experience. And I agree 100% with what Kissinger wrote.
These are my perspectives...and that particular post was a response to, was this calculated to affect our markets? No. This was a response to aligning ourselves too storngly with Israel at this time. There is a time and a place for everything. Look, I"m Jewish, in many ways I'm pro-Israel, but I'm human too. I don't think Israel should be murdering Palestinians. They have a right to live peacefully too.
Please take this all in stride, these are just my opinions, and everybody else has a right to theirs. |
