Hence I agree with your conclusion that the bear is here to stay for while and for even longer term than you even can imagine. :)

Well, I have long resigned myself to the possibility of a secular bear market. The excesses of the late 90's could only end with a 30's style depression or a 1966-82 style secular bear. I think the Fed will opt for the latter because it is less painful than a depression and so, that is what we will get.
