>>>The Palestinian goal is to push the Israelis into the sea.<<<

Isn't that the old view and also the view of the Israeli hard liners?

Here is what I see: Israel won a great was in 1967. They were the most admired military force in the world. They did a whole lot with modest resources.

Isreal has had about 34 years to shape the West Bank and the Palestinians into whatever they wanted Palestine to be. Their methods have failed. We tolerate Arafat because when you look past him there are no Palestinians of any influence or stature beyond the block they live on. 34 years is about the length of time from the Civil War in America to the Spanish American War.

>>> Israel is an AMERICAN strategic interest in an otherwise unstable region. <<< ...the same could be said for Palestine. If we let the Palestinians get cleaned out, do you think the other Arab states are going to say,..."gee that's too bad for the Palestinians?"

>>>Didn't you see the Palestinians cheering (over the WTC attack) on TV? Wake up! <<<

There are lots of idiots in the world that cheer on the tragedy of others. Americans cheered the TV picture bytes of Iraqi civilians being vaporized during the Gulf War. For that kind of mentality only a lobotomy should be considered.

On PBS radio yesterday, they had a reporter from Palestine who was asked about those celebrations. She said there were far more Palestinians praying for the harmed Americans and praying that no Palestinians were involved, because the American revenge would hurt them all. That never made it to the American TV stations.
