1. The CIA's human based intelligence efforts, particularly in the middle east, can be better funded. A study last year indicated this. The US can consort with the bad guys more -- but the laws need to be changed. Consorting with bad guys in Central America and South America is politically incorrect, but perhaps should be tolerated when trying to infiltrate terrorist networks in the middle east. If all the world were a safe place run by good governments, we could probably afford this measure of political correctness.

2. US pilots did not fly those planes into the World Trade Center. US pilots were not at the controls. Talk to some pilots for yourself and find out what they are like: family people, ex-military people, people trained to know what the public good is. The planes' transponders were turned off early in the flights indicating that the terrorists had taken control. Some of the terrorists had flight training, perhaps at the same school, www.embryriddle.com, as many American pilots.

This is probably the last successful hijacking of a US plane where the terrorists had only knives. It has been 10 years since a hijacking in the US. Most hijackings in the world end with the plane flying to some other country, they plane sitting on the tarmac, the Iranians feeding the hijackers, and eventually the hijackers and passengers walking off the plane unharmed. Think about it. Most recent hijackings have ended with few if any casualties. Based on experience, victims submitting to terrorists during a hijacking will get one out alive. Not any more.
