This is probably the last successful hijacking of a US plane where the terrorists had only knives.

[snip, snip]

Based on experience, victims submitting to terrorists during a hijacking will get one out alive. Not any more.

You make some very good points. By the way, I did not say that the pilots flew the planes into the WTC. I am saying that they gave up control of the plane for what I am sure they though were good reasons. They were most likely good and normal people. It is definitely difficult to see the "big picture" when your life is being threatened. But the tragic consequences did turn out the way it did.

Imagine this:

What if you were a bus driver. The bus was full adults and children. You come up to a curb at a stop and open your door. A person comes in. You close your door and are about to go to your next stop. Suddenly you find a knife to your face. The bus jacker wants you to get out of the seat and allow them to drive the bus. You suspect due to the situation this person may be a very, very bad person.

What would you do?

Lets say your wife and children happen also to be on the bus at that time.

Would you do anything differently? Even if you wanted to believe that no one will get hurt?

Just some interesting questions for everyone here to ponder. :-)
