If we're to be at war, it's certainly more convenient to be at war with a country that has a legitimate government. In that case, you can assume that all countrymen are the enemy.

Well, I have never thought that war and convenience would be concepts that go hand in hand. War disrupts everything around us, as this event has done.

The enemy is Terrorism. Those who spouse it, or those who protect the ones that do are the enemy. However, the opportunity should be given to whatever particular country would be in the middle, to cooperate, if not... They are the enemy, declare war on them in order to clear any possible cloud.

The practical implication is that you can bomb the country to smithereens without undue concern. When the enemy is a faction or an outlaw band within a country or when the government is not legitimate, things get complicated and innocents become more of an issue.

I do not believe that the objective here is bomb without some specific target. In addition, today the military have more sophisticated weaponry that can target more precisely. It is not infallible, but it is a lot better than before.

And yes... innocents always die... A lot of them died yesterday.

What is the alternative ? Sit and watch... hold hands and send flowers and feel "real compassion" so we can hope that these animals change their ways ? NOT I.

I hope the USA will not either.
