Perhaps the reason you are alone, Brian, is because you are wrong. Our enemy understands violence and death. It is their primary weapon and the only language they speak.

We have two disadvantages to overcome:

1) We don't act but must react to terrorism.

2) We care about the collateral damage.

We have one advantage:

1) We carry the biggest stick.

Despite my military background or perhaps because of it, I would be delighted if the military were to really become an anachronism because the world learned to live together. Unfortunately we aren't even close. Until that day we better concentrate on maintaining the advantage because the disadvantages are a given.
