I expect the US to retaliate - it's stuck its neck out and it will. With what effectiveness it's hard to know - probably none - if the object is to curb terrorism. Good versus evil is the party line now. If God be with us who can stand against us? But which God? The God which approved the use of Agent Orange? Are we going to simply eliminate all the people? Of course not! It's the old saw. I can't understand the context of your remark about Canada being attacked? Presumably Canada would ask Nato to retaliate and this would include the US and Canada.
