I have been fascinated that this event has clearly shown (at least here on this thread) who will fight for their ideals, but is first an American. Most of us. We have taken off the gloves for a time in the less important arena of political ideology and rhetoric. (We will certainly slip them back on over time. ;)

But there are those on each side of the argument who not only can't let go of their bigoted hatred for those who do not think like them but amazingly seem to become even more grotesque in the light of these events.

Hopefuly some of them will see this terrible mistake and turn around.
