Boy, that makes me queasy.

Well, war is supposed to make us queasy. There are a couple of places you can draw a bright line. The line between pacifism and war is certainly one. The place where I drew it is another. At least we have a tradition of drawing it there, even if it's a revisionist one as you suggest, as a basis for a bright line.
