Bill, depending what you call support ........ money is coming from oil rich countries mostly as payouts for internal security ......... knowledge from places like Egypt, Syria Sudan.

Keep in mind that those factions are also fighting between themselves and changes their sponsor relative often. It will not surprise any one that Iraq sponsored group will fight Iran / Syrian sponsored groups and so on. Lately intellectual groups in Egypt are big supporters of terrorist organization.

The oil rich "western leaning" oil rich countries and emirates are paying more what can be called ransom or protection money.

One more point to mention is the fact that most of those nations are de facto totalitarian and one of their main concern is true democracy as practiced in the Western Hemisphere. In this respect a prosperous Israel is a big danger to their regime, and as such they will fight Israel to weaken it and justify totalitarian regime.

Turkey an Islamic nation for example are not afraid of democracy and gets more and more closer to Israel

Further one important point to make is that many US citizen of Arab origin (not all of them) are also supporting organization which present themselves as "humanitarian and educational" organization but are actual a breeding organization for Islamic extremist like Hamas or Islamic Jyhad. There are many more similar organization but those are two I know of raising money in the US.
