Doug. Excellent article by Krauthammer in the Washington Post.

He's right to focus on the absurd & unrealistic emphasis upon legalistic thinking that unfortunately has become the politically correct mind set BOTH political parties have used in response to this growing global terror during (at least) the past 25 years!

IMO that fatally flawed response to a de facto State of War is one of the principal reasons terrorist groups have grown and become bolder over the past 25+ yrs - culminating in yesterdays catastrophic wake up call.

The real tragedy is that it took a massive hammer blow such as we just suffered make people face the reality that we are in a War and our survival as a nation IS at stake. This is NOT a series of isolated criminal acts by groups of bad boys that need to be rounded up and put in front of some judge or jury so taxpayers can spend $40,000/yr supporting them in a US prison. A bullet and a shallow desert grave is the appropriate remedy NOT a prison cell.

Think about it thread. Sooner or later, one of these groups will obtain nuclear weapons. Either we destroy ALL these violent radical Moslem fundamentalist groups AND the governments that support and finance this Terrorist War or we will surely be wiped out as a civilization.

There is no compromise possible in a religious war. It's all out, total war. And make no mistake about it, that is exactly what has been forced upon us. Students of history know that some of the most barbaric of all conflicts have a religious basis. Radical Islamic Fundamentalism must be completely crushed. And I agree that a protracted multi-year war will be required to accomplish that. But we have no choice when dealing with religious fanatics who will stoop the the most depraved level of barbarism to destroy us. The sooner the rest of America understands and accepts the nature of what must be done the better our chances of survival. It's really that simple.

Think about what these religious fanatics mean when they call us "The Great Satan". That they are fighting a Jihad, a "holy war". That's not idle name calling, folks !! These people are fanatically devoted to the complete and total annihilation of us and our entire civilization. And they will if we continue to treat them as if they were merely a few criminals running amock that need "to be brought to justice" on a case by case basis.

Let's send them to Allah and let him decide what justice they deserve !!
