Ru2 -- I assume you're emotional, because I know I am, and I don't know a soul who hasn't been impacted emotionally by this. Perhaps you can be the first person I encounter who is not having emotional reactions to this, but I sincerely doubt that (and that is in no way a slight, insult, or anything negative).
All I have read is that ATC reported a plane travelling at a high rate of speed up the Potomac, heading towards Washington. I do not even know 100% that this information has been confirmed. Also, remember, this plane took off from Dulles. I do not even know how long it was in the air before it crashed. Do you? I do not know how long it had been off course. Do you? I also have not read a single eyewitness report of the plane being seen, let alone a jet tailing it. Perhaps a check of the Washington Post website would help?
My point is that until this basic information is known, along with lots of other basic information, asking whether an F15 was tailing the plane (and then seeming to deride the military for this NOT happening) assumes, among other things, that such an event could even have had time to happen.
