I studied the Barrings situation. You're wrong. If Barrings had had a few more weeks without being pummeled mercilessly by shorts during an already difficult market they could have survived. All their positions would have appreciated greatly in just a few weeks. Instead a great banking institution with hundreds of years of proud tradition was sold for 1 pound sterling. Shorts are like vultures in cases like these, picking at the still living to grab off chunks of meat.
