It's too easy to generalize, especially at times like these.
>>I can name you 5000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? <<
Only a year ago, Australia and New Zealand sent firefighters to the Rockies....
nre.vic.gov.au
"The Australia and NZ firefighters are undertaking a variety of roles in the US, including Operations Officers, Planning Officers, Logistics Officers, Deputy Incident Controllers, Divisional Commanders, Sector Commanders, Task Force and Strike Team Leaders, Fire Behaviour Analysis, Structure Protection, Fire Observation, and Helicopter Management.Personnel are working 12-hour days for 14 days followed by a three day break and then another 14 days work."
This is only one small contribution, I know. My only reason for posting this is to remind you that you are not alone and friendless. To think this way leads to a bunker mentality which will ultimately harm yourselves. Nobody has benefited from globalisation and world trade more than the US; to become paranoid and insular right now will cause damage in ways you cannot immediately see in your present state of horror and rage.
Our thoughts are with you. |
