AS - all one can do is trade according to his/her best ability.

As I said I have longs and shorts and I would hope that nothing was affected either way.

Some stocks can not help but be affected. Insurance companies, financials to the bad and oil and gold to the good.

Is buying oil stocks taking advantage.
If it is I suggest you should sell your oil stocks.
It is no different trying to profit by buying oil as it is attempting to make money by shorting something going down.

At any rate it is unclear which way this will settle. I am sure Greenspan has allowed a ton of liquidity to pour into the markets. Someone attempting to take advantage by shorting better be damn careful or have the exact right stocks picked out.
