Ted, You make generalizations about whole groups of people that have no basis in fact. I was talking about style of government, not groups of people. I thought this post: Message 16342719 was pretty clear in this regard. A good answer would have been: "look at country XYZ which totally disproves your point" or "There is no cause and effect between Islamic government / law and prosperity. The real reason for lack of prosperity is ABC." or "What do you mean by lack of prosperity or lack of self sustaining economic model? Look at country A which has GDP of X, GDP per capita of Y, economic growth of Z, and only 1% of GDP is derived from oil" or something else. Anyway, one of the things about islamic law is that apparently interest income is a sin, while interest (price of money) is a very important concept in a free market economy. Joe
