What they have done , is a morally outrageous, a threat to the civilized world & an affront before God. And God is the least of it. It is not the redemption of the soul that drives us to War but the love of Peace, which has been stolen from us. Evil must be fought. Not principally because it's the 'right' thing, because honest men can disagree on the definition of that word. It must be fought to prevent its victory over all that a free people holds dear. We need not dress it up in terms of moral superiority to make our cause seem more noble. The truth is there is little nobility in War. It is a base and ugly thing that corrupts all participants. Yet it is necessary. We must be ready for further pain and hardship and an interminable period of time. Quick retaliation is always the desire, and always an unrequited one. It means get down and get dirty. It means a commitment up front to expect every adversity and to forge the will to continue till the Evil perishes.
