IN MY OPINION:

Short selling in this environment would only lead to disaster for the short sellers.

I expect there will be some selling once the market re-opens but.... there is going to be the mother of all rallies shortly thereafter.

Finally, short selling is not UN-AMERICAN. Short sales eventually have to be covered which lead to rallies. At least on listed/NASDAQ anyhow.
