Yeah, I'd noticed that, too! Especially since, as you probably know, I'm a BIG fan of alternative energy strategies and have a fair number of equities I track in that "sector." Even if, for now, they're mostly in the R&D, early ramp-up, phase.
Need I point out how 9/11 has made clear our nation needs a "moon race" styled government focus to remove us from our "drug dealer" like dependency upon unstable, non-renewable, energy resources?
As a country, to my mind, focusing on this has been more about resolve than cost. America has grown too comfy with our SUV's, et.al, insular and blindly dependant on the "easy" non-national resources that have allowed us to consume energy at a pace vastly beyond our size. Jeezus....the lack of a national, governmental, direction in regard to alternative energy policies (until the last year or two), is proof of how complacent and fat America has become. From a historical view-point we learned little from decades past energy crises.
Be that as it may, it's time to grow up and take charge of our collective future as a country. This is my vote as a citizen. I hope others feel the same way.
Regards!
