The following is a letter from a friend of mine who is a commercial airline pilot. It is an interesting point of view.

"After reading this:

slate.msn.com

I am of the mind that the best thing to happen to Bin Laden would be for the
US/NATO/UN to secretly influence the Afghan government to deport him to
Saudi Arabia, his home, to face trial and sentencing under an Islamic court
for his numerous transgressions. Justice there is swift, and he would
probably end up with a public beheading executed by a quick swordsman. In
this way, the Afghan government could save face, and after being found
guilty under Moslem law, the chances are less that he will be considered a
martyr.

We must find a solution that would be palateable to the Afghan people, to
their government, to Americans, and to all of the civilized people of the
world."
