As a former air traffic controller I often occupied the "jump seat" in the cockpit of commercial airliners. The entrance to the cockpit has to be upgraded -no doubt. More importantly, we need armed, trained marshalls on every flight -both domestic and international-, and we need to upgrade our filtering system to identify and detect potential travelers who are terrorists.
