I heard on the news that these guys have about 80 out of 1000+ employees accounted for. They were on the 101 and 105 floors of the (North?) tower. They used to account for 25% of the government bond market, IIRC. It's a horrible tragedy for many financial firms.

I also saw on the news that many financial firms are crippled due to lack of office space. One firm, now having moved to White Plains, NY, is desperately searching for a place to work. What's left of the company is all gathered in a single rented office. They estimate that 5,000,000 sq feet of office space was lost in the WTC and surrounding buildings. That's going to be tough for many companies to do their business, not to mention the insurance firms that will be required to help in most cases.

(Sorry for all the sketchy details. This is all off the top of my head).
