He echoes some of my points before. I agree in one respect that the USA must make a point, and its going to require a ground war and occupation. My guess is we go and take Iraq again, and this time we stay to protect are interests and secure are oil supply. If needed we may have to go through Jordan to get there, so be it. On the other hand the USA has a history has of being ill-prepared for coming wars. In almost every case including WWI, WWII The Usa was ill prepared for what was to come. The speed and ability to emerge into a Military industrial complex from a Peace time economy is what is unique about the USA. In many ways ancient Athens was similear. In peace a bountifull society and in war a deadly machine. The fact is we need to start the switch back to the war machine. I dont think America realizes that this is an inevitability, and will be the cost of what is to come. As I have said before I am still surprised the reserves have not been called up. If Bush thinks a bombing campaghn is adequate he has another thing coming.
