That's one side of the debate. The other side says that the leader in a free society must be subject to the scrutiny of the 5th estate. This is necessary or we have dictatorship. In this instance, I believe the press corps were only echoing what many Americans were thinking. Look at the bravery of the mayor of New York. Yes, there is a line between bravery and stupidity, and yes, the president needs to be protected more than does Rudy, but the mayor of NY helped to pull that city together in the heart of the initial "battleground". It helped inspire people when they were most fearful. Sincerely, what was the threat to AF1 once the skies were clear and under NORAD control?
