In regards to Briefing.com's reference to shorting, many shorters have the unsavory ability to disconnect their actions from morality. One such individual, who I won't name, was vocal in criticizing my "naive" thoughts about my view of shorting, which I posted here a couple of years ago. Shorting, in the final analysis IMO, is a profiteering scheme to capitalize on misfortune, although usually a material, less visual, and harder to see the victims misfortune. It isn't too difficult for outspoken shorters to rationalize it all way as "it's just about money".

There will be many consequences from Tuesday. One, I hope, will be that the ranks of the shorters will be diminished for a long, long time to come.

My condolences go out to all the victims and their families, and God help the rest of us.
