Hi Bruce - I think it is dangerous to start a who-is-to-blame campaign at this juncture. I mean, allegedly, the said terrorist grp boosts some of the most adv telecom equipment [I read that a few mos ago] etc etc. I mean, hi-tech is the moral equivalence of a genie-in-the-bottle. It is out, now what?
Evidently, according to a piece of news I read [don't remember where] this morning, Echelon has intercepted something, but there was probably more than PGP, if it was used, involved to evade the actual decoding [my guess.]
I mean, hindsight is 20/20. People on the 1st 3 planes were likely to believe the hyjacking was a hostile taking operation and thus did not stop the planes from carrying out their ultimate goals, so do we fault them too? Obviously not [just to be clear about my rhetorical question.]
Instead of pointing our fingers at NETA, or any other entity, for that matter, it is much more effective to cut off the head of the monster!
