So now you are occupying Iraq. OK. What next? It's a large country bordered by nations either clearly unfriendly to the US or nations who allegiance is strained and could go at any time? (I am not counting tiny Kuwait). How would you handle a coup in Saudi Arabia? What would you do about missles from Iran? How long do you stay? Years? Perhaps you put in a puppet and support him with money and arms? Remember the Shah?!

What do you think the chances are that it would not escalate into a bloody regional conflict or enrage Islam to the point where you have far more attacks on your citizens throughout the world and probably on your home soil?
