thank you for your thoughts.... all of you.
but you know, in truth, i am no different than anyone when it comes to being impacted by this atrocity.
some of you, sadly, are going to learn, as i did this morning, that you knew someone who lost their life at the hands of the terrorist attack. and if you don't know someone directly, most assuredly you will know them through a friend or business associate.
kind words and thoughts mean an awful lot. i chose to share this very personal info with si members today because of a sense of duty and love that i feel inside of me, duty and love for my friend as well as duty and love for this community we have here.
i want others to know what i know about this guy who died tuesday. i want you to know that he had a german shepherd dog that idolized him and will never know where her owner went. i want you to know that this man was constantly checking to see if everyone was okay, if there was more that he could do to help anyone in someway. he threw himself at his work, he believed in nature preservation, and seemed to be only recently learning how to relax and take a deep breath and enjoy his surroundings. the home he bought (that i once owned) was a source of great pleasure to him, as there are beautiful redwood trees there and deer and hawks and more.
he only got to live there for one year. his life has been extinguished now in this senseless act. the sorrow and grief i feel is felt by many.... |
