what YOU can do to stop terrorism

The middle east is a region of religious fundamentalism,
and religious intolerance, which in turn, ultimately
produces extremism. These countries do not support
the ideals of religious freedom upon which this country
was founded.
Through our consumption, you and I support
these countries every time we fill our tank at the pump.
Here is what you can do.
Make a commitment to immediately reduce your personal
consumption at the pump by 20%. Develop strategies for carpooling
(even once a week would do it), using your most fuel efficient car at
all possible times, simply driving less, etc. (This goal is highly attainable.
Recently, Californians were asked to reduce energy usage by 20%, and almost
overnight an energy shortage transformed into a surplus.)
Send this email to all of your friends, ask them to consider doing so as
well, and to please forward this to all of their friends.
Next, email Congress and let them know what you are doing and why.

You, the American consumer, are reducing your personal consumption
by 20%, to eliminate the need to import oil from the middle east
with certain demands.
You will continue to reduce your consumption until
all those involved in the recent terrorist acts in the US
are captured and brought to justice, and until
all oil supplying governments in the middle east
make commitments to eliminate international terrorism.
Meanwhile, with the money you save,
support the American economy, and go buy
something made in the US. |
