Why can't the pilots have their own entrance also? Would this present a problem structurally?
I am thinking along the lines of making their area like an entirely seperate part of the plane. No access at all in any way shape or form with the rest of the plane. They're there to fly us where we want to go, not socialize with us, and in the event that something happened and they all had a heart attack at the same time, and if people think that this idea would stop a passenegr from "saving" the day, I highly doubt that type of scenario is ever going to happen. I also read an article somewhere that they could program the computers that under emergency conditions that the computers could be made to operate the plane without the pilot at all. I don't know how sophesticated this could be, but at a minimum they could make it so that they could fly it out of any area they shouldn't be in. And if the terrorists could take over the computers, then they should be able to do something to stop that from happening. I just think loading up the planes with armed guards is a mistake, what happens if they over power him, if there's an accident, there's just too many things IMO that can go wrong compared to the sealed cockpit idea.
