Francis, A few comments concerning Am. Min as the article stated
they are willing to make an investmnet in this slag and only get $12 for selling the Cobalt. Then this shows there MUST be a great deal of profit in doing this. WHY then can't Colossal make the same profit. To me Colossal talked of profits at that price and if the price of Cobalt went higher there profits would go up accordingly.
Secondly instead of Am. Min. building a processing plant, if one does'nt exist, WHY doesn't Colossal offer to process the slag for Am. Min. at a fee. This would insure them of three shifts at both of there plants plus an added business.
Third, the time horizon is still a few years away, Colossal should be able if they can finally get moving to line on sales contracts, guarantee delivery, price etc. I forget the life of there slag heap, but I remember its 10 years +.
Fourth, the growth of the industrial base around the world is booming, so I'm not concerned unless an economic downturn suddendly takes place that an oversupply will occurr, China, Asia, South Americia etc will eat up additional product so I think the statement by Am. Min. may be a negotiation ploy to keep the price of the property etc. in line.
