I respect you very much and I've re-thought my logic.

Saying that airlines deserve lower stock prices is not tantamount to saying any entity deserves tragedy. I hope you recognize that.

Let's just say that these events are a natural outgrowth of the airlines lobbying efforts to relax security, and that when forseeable and preventable terrorist acts result, and in turn lead to a tragedy, their stock price is likely to suffer. If I were short the airlines, I wouldn't feel bad about taking my profits.

I do regret using the word "deserve" though. It was imprecise language. I'm not wise enough to determine who deserves what in this life, but I am wise enough to determine when shortsighted efforts to relax security standards in order to move more passengers faster result in a tragedy and lower stock prices.
