Free republics are in their most tenuous position when someone stupidly tries to get them "together". It is not their natural state, and their precious gift to humanity, liberty, deteriorates at increasing rates of speed when they "unite in a crisis". This is not such a time, and "uniting" in a "crisis" is the last thing we want to do. No one is going to war. We allowed ourselves to be weakened to a point that we were attacked by terrorists who have been there all along. Their brothers and sisters are no-doubt out there now. It is a problem to be corrected, and that correction, with any luck, will include violent retribution against people who might facilitate the next terrorist act. But this nation can never be strong when conservatives are willing to say, "OK, my beliefs are 'hateful' and 'bigotted' and I'm selling out to the enemy so we can 'unite' in a 'crisis."

The hell with that! The danger to this nation runs the DNC, or chairs committees in the Senate, or runs around screaming that they got "disenfranchised" in Florida. They are the ones we must defeat, and selling out to them isn't going to get us to that critical objective...
