I don't buy into that theory, but whoever was the architect also appears to have considered one other factor: None of these flights was anywhere near full, and a couple were more than half empty. It is a lot harder to herd a full planeload of passengers to the back of a plane. Maybe they checked seat charts on the Internet sites of the airlines to see how much was available?
