PK, It came from my memory. I'm an old history major and ancient and middle ages were my favorites. BTW, there is some controversy with the list, as some would say the Judeans were in charge after Cyrus of Persia let them rebuild and move back. But they were basically just Persian governors, so I didn't list them as in charge at that time. And both the Khwarizm and Frederick II had very short runs. His son King Conrad and Conrad's son, King Conradin, never even saw Palestine, as they had to spend their lives in Germany and Italy fighting off various greedy Popes. But the officials in Palestine still ruled in their names, so I think they should be counted.

Basically, this is a plot of land that has been a freeway for major conquering powers for many centuries.
