Applied Materials Mourns Loss of Employee on United Flight 175 SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 13, 2001--Applied Materials, Inc. (Nasdaq:AMAT - news) today confirmed that one of its employees, Alona Avraham, was on board United Airlines Flight 175 which flew into the World Trade Center in New York City Tuesday.
Ms. Avraham, 30, who joined Applied Materials approximately one year ago was employed as a manufacturing engineer associate. She had been traveling on vacation from Boston to Los Angeles.
