Here are copies of the letters I sent today. I hope some of you who feel as I do will let them know what you think also.

Mr. Martin Meehan
U.S. House of Representatives
2447 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515

Dear Mr. Meehan,

I am appalled by your following comments about our President:

“U.S. Rep. Martin T. Meehan (D-Lowell) scoffed at reports Air Force One was targeted by terrorists - the reason Bush aides have put forth to explain why the president delayed his return to Washington after Tuesday's attack on the Pentagon. ``I don't buy the notion Air Force One was a target,'' said Meehan. ``That's just PR. That's just spin.''”

I hope this attack on our president and insinuation that he is a coward in this time of crisis is displayed for all to see when your re-election comes up. You have used this tragedy to take a political pot shot at someone you obviously don’t like, and even appear to be calling the President of the United States a liar. This is a time to bring Americans together, sir. Not politics as usual.

You should be ashamed.

Respectfully,

Mr. Richard Neal
Washington, D.C. Office
2133 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, D.C. 20515

Dear Mr. Neal,

I am appalled by your following comments about our President:

“``It's not a question of what he's saying,'' said U.S. Rep. Richard Neal (D-Springfield). ``The content is fine. But the blandness with which it is delivered has caused considerable reaction.''”

“Neal said several Democratic colleagues agree with his assessment that Bush must show a more forceful, vigorous style as he seeks to rally the nation behind him”

You act as though this situation is a charisma contest. It is not! If you feel “his message is fine” I feel you should leave it at that and STICK BY HIM. Your second comment shows only that several “Democratic colleagues” are NOT with President Bush. I can assure you the overwhelming majority of the American people are behind him. I can only guess that you think you will get some political points with this remark, but I think you are mistaken. I hope this attack on President Bush in this time of crisis is displayed for all to see when your re-election comes up. You have used this tragedy to take a political pot shot at someone you obviously don’t like. This is a time to bring Americans together, sir. Not politics as usual.

You should be ashamed.

Respectfully,
