let's see if US Military response is primarily AirForce led

if so, then I seriously doubt ANYTHING effective will result
we constantly want to keep casualties to a minimum
effective results work proportionately to dead soldiers

if we rely upon our air strikes, then we will fail
(e.g. Libyan killing of Qaddafi's son)
(e.g. missed attempts to take out Benny Laden)

our resolve must be there
but also our willingness to use ground troops
we want so often to respond without dirty hands
use of ground troops is regarded as trespassing though, invasions
sure, it is more complicated
eradicating terrorist killers is very complicated

I dont regard our use of Infantry in Gulf War as typical
that was a desert sweep without resistance
it was a shooting gallery with a mopup exercise
we stopped short of the Great Sewer in Saddam's homeground

how do we bomb them if they hide in caves?
if they move their training sites?
if they move their strategic arsenals?
if they have multiple phony passports?
if they hide throughout the western world?

I expect a very large RE-ARRANGEMENT OF ROCK AND SAND
minimize use of bombs
maximize use of intelligence and surgical ground operations
cut corners on use of brutal methods

gonna be interesting
past failures will be strong lessons for next actions
I would love to have a fireside chat with Colin Powell
did he want to finish the job in Iraq?

funny how the players are the same
Bush, Cheney, Powell
