A ground war in Afganistan is insane and we are surely not so dumb as to enter into such an action. A bombing campaign is doable but I don't see how it will dent hideouts in mountain caves. Neutron bombs on mountain hideouts is likely quite effective, but could have repercussions of a horrible nature and alienate large groups of friendly people. Use of human intelligence with assasination is beyond our capabilities. Thanks to Frank Church and others, we have decided It is not nice to use murderers and traitors in our service. Econmic embargoes are a weak weapon against a poor underdeveloped group. SOG missions will be very difficult and dangerous. It appears that some combination of these actions will be requiredm and even then, it will be a very limited tool.
