David, you are confusing patriotism and determination with economic confidence. You are also grossly underestimating our enemies and wrongly assuming that conventional military action and superior weapons will vanquish them. Enemies that gladly die for their cause by the millions are not easy to defeat. We should be seriously addressing the Moslem world's grievances with us, and I am very much afraid we will not do it, at least not in time. We should also be seriously curtailing some of our internal freedoms, such as ASAP establishing a national fake-proof ID card and keeping much better track of all foreigners entering the country -- I am afraid we will not do this either. Sorry if this may not sound patriotic enough for you.
