Air marshals would stop a lot of terrorism. It is what El Al uses. They could go after the uniformed marshals and perhaps get their guns. The uniformed marshals would have to be some tricky to avoid this. There are strategies. In addition two non-uniformed armed marshals who are deeply covert should be on every flight. The source of their weapons should be secret to airport security and flight personnel. How this is done would be tricky but to have official sources on coverts is a bad idea. We have to assume deep intelligence breakthroughs are possible. All baggage should be hand searched by highly trained people. No aerosols, opened liquids or non name brand common goods should be allowed in baggage. Allowed very light carry on baggage should be examined item by item. This is also tricky as certain thinks would then have to openable or disallowed usch as computers and cell phones. All passengers should be asked direct questions and observed. There is more careful questioning at the US-Canada border than at any airport security!

I am refusing to fly for the next ten years. There are other ways to get there. Anyway the US has a poor flight safety record and not a proper maintenance and prevention program in place. Australian and British are truly preventative not after the fact and put us to shame. Most of the phony aircraft parts are made and sold in the US. The 767 is just plain unsafe to fly. Bad hydraulics. Our f-18's are corroding to pieces. We do nothing about it.
